Taniela Moa is regarded as one of the most promising halfbacks in New Zealand and when he is on song is capable of tearing opposition defences to shreds with his breaks around the ruck.

He is a strong defender, a powerful runner with a sharp bullet pass and at 102kg is one of the bigger halfbacks running around.

He has come through the Auckland Rugby Academy system, having previously played for New Zealand Secondary Schools and the New Zealand under-21 team.

Interestingly he is the first player from the Te Papa Onehunga club to play for Auckland at the top level.
