Arguably the form player for the Blues last year before his season was cut short through injury, Chris Lowrey received the Blues' Rookie of the Year award in 2009.

He failed to continue his impressive performances and did not play a match for the Blues this year, but is certainly hungry to make an impact for Auckland in the 2010 ITM Cup.

Lowrey has tremendous speed, strong cover defence and a solid work ethic that is standing out in the lineout or on the burst from the scrum.

Lowrey played for the NZ Colts against Canada in 2007, and his outstanding performances for unbeaten Ponsonby made him an easy winner of the 2007 Auckland Club Player of the Year Award.
