After playing one match for Auckland back in 2002, Paul Williams has returned to where it all began and will be eager to inspire this new-look Auckland Air New Zealand Cup side to great things this season.
Paul Williams played for the Higlanders and Canterbury in recent years before he joined the Blues in 2009.
He was Canterbury's vice-captain in their 2008 Air New Zealand Cup success. He missed nearly three seasons of rugby after breaking his leg playing for the Highlanders against the Blues in April 2003, but thankfully has made a full recovery.
Williams is predominantly a fullback, but is equally adept at wing or in the midfield.
Paul is the son of Auckland and All Black legend Bryan Williams.
