Highlights from the Annual Report
• The Auckland Storm won the women’s NPC title for the 11th time in the last 12 years. The following players were selected in the Black Ferns: Karina Penetito, Fiao'o Fa'amausili, Vicky Heighway, Vita Robinson, Justine Lavea, Linda Itunu, Emma Jensen, Huriana Manuel, Victoria Grant, Renee Wickcliffe, Aroha Savage.
• Josevata Rokocoko, John Afoa, Isaia Toeava, Jerome Kaino and Keven Mealamu were selected for the All Blacks.
• Daniel Faleafa, Winston Stanley and Teddy Stanaway were part of the World Championship winning New Zealand Under-20 team.
• Huriana Manuel, Hannah Porter, Angela McGregor, Justine Lavea, Vaniya Lavea, Linda Itunu, Renee Wickcliffe, Teresa Te Tamaki and Victoria Grant were selected in the New Zealand Women’s Sevens team.
• Tutu Tairea, Jordan Puletua and Edwin Cocker played for New Zealand Sevens.
• Steven Luatua, Francis Saili, Maritino Nemani, Otinili Moala, Ofa Tuungafasi, Joseph Tupe and Albert Nikoro represented New Zealand Secondary Schools.
• David Ormrod, Andrew Van der Heijden, Thomas Vaughan and Kieran Williams represented New Zealand Universities.
• Auckland referees Matthew Stanish, Jonathon White, Ben Skeen, Shaun Elliott and Sheldon Eden-Whaitiri were selected in the National Squad while Rob Parkes, Richard Jenson and Steve Piacun were selected in the Northern Region Squad.
• Northern Regions titles were won by the B, Secondary Schools Under-18 Divisional, Under-16, Under-14 and Secondary School Girls teams.
• Auckland Under-85kg Restricted retained the New Zealand Barbarians Trophy, the Challenge Trophy and won the Titan Cup.
• Ponsonby defeated University to win the Gallaher Shield for an unprecedented sixth consecutive year.
