JUNIOR RUGBY
From Rip Rugby to tackle, you've got more ways to play Junior Rugby than ever. So come on, boys and girls - it's time to join the fun.
As one of the world’s fastest growing female sports, it’s no surprise that we welcome more girls to junior rugby each year. And while they can look up to our Auckland Storm and the New Zealand Black Ferns to see where rugby can take them, for most young girls it’s about the thrill of playing and having fun with friends.
Simple and fun, Rippa Rugby promotes good ball handling and running skills for kids. Rippa Rugby is proving so popular for Under 6 & U7, there are options to play right through to U13’s.
Rugby has roots in every Auckland community dating back to the nineteenth century – so wherever you live in the wider city, there are rugby clubs to choose from. As kids progress through the grades, they will form strong friendships with their fellow club members from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
We provide weight division options to make sure rugby is fun and as safe as possible for everyone. From the Under 8 grade through to Under 13s, kids can play in divisions that best suit their size and skill. It’s all about the opportunity to play and have fun.
When they play rugby, kids don’t just learn how to sidestep, pass and kick. The experience also teaches them lessons that can translate to other parts of their lives. Being brave, working hard, and being a team player are examples of the rugby values that will help them succeed as people too.
Playing New Zealand’s national game in the largest provincial union is a core part of growing up for young Aucklanders – and a great way to meet plenty of others doing it too. They all have the chance to reach their full potential and every one of them grows up knowing how to run, pass and kick the ball with their mates.
