With the continued uncertainty of when the wider Auckland Region will drop down Alert levels, and our Return to Play protocols which mean rugby is only permissible at Level 2 and requires periods of training before any contact can be allowed, the tough decision has been made to end the remainder of the Premier Rugby season.

The College Sport Board have determined the outcome of all Premier Sport in the College Sport portfolio. The decision regarding Rugby is as follows:

Auckland 1A Rugby

• All teams have played 10 out of 11 games
• The season has now ended
• The current standings become the final standings
• Only one team will play in the promotion/relegation game at the beginning of next season
• 12^th in 1A will play off against 1^st in 1B

Auckland 1B Rugby

• All teams have played 10 out of 11 games
• The season has now ended
• The current standings become the final standings
• Only one team will play in the promotion/relegation game at the beginning of next season
• 12^th in 1B will play off against 1^st in 1C

We believe that it is extremely important that we acknowledge the efforts and achievements of all schools throughout the season as it has played out this year.

Auckland 1C and Girl’s 1^st XV Rugby

• These grades only a final to play
• The season has now ended
• A final decision on their outcomes will be made on Wednesday 8 September

While this news will be disappointing, the health and safety of all participants is imperative. Auckland Rugby wishes to pass on their appreciation to all players, coaches, families, and volunteers for what has been a very successful 2021 Secondary School Rugby Season.
