All Women referee team makes history!

We are thrilled to celebrate a monumental moment in our association's history acheived this weekend. For the first time ever, we proudly fielded not just one, but TWO full teams of three women referees. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in our journey towards inclusivity and diversity within rugby officiating.

Leading the charge is premier referee Maggie Cogger-Orr, whose experience and expertise have paved the way for the talented women referees who joined us. Among these trailblazers are four graduates of the Rugby101 women's referee course, who have honed their skills and are ready to make their mark. Additionally, we welcomed Liv, who comes to us after a successful start at Counties last year, demonstrating her passion and commitment to the sport.

Saturday's achievement represents a massive step forward for all five women in their referee journeys with the Auckland Rugby Referees Association (ARRA). It is a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and the support they have received from our community.

We applaud these exceptional women referees for their passion, determination, and commitment to rugby. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to all aspiring referees, regardless of gender, and demonstrate the positive impact women can have in traditionally male-dominated roles.

We are thrilled to extend an invitation to all women who are eager to get involved in refereeing rugby. Whether you have prior experience or are new to the sport, it is never too late to join us. We encourage you to reach out to us for more information, as we are committed to fostering a welcoming environment and providing the necessary resources for your success.

Together, let's shape the future of rugby officiating!
