Auckland Rugby Union Celebrates Rising Stars Heading to NZCIS Under 19 Development Camp


Auckland Rugby Union is proud to announce the selection of seven exceptional young talents who will participate in the Under 19 development camp at the New Zealand Campus of Innovation & Sport (NZCIS) in Wellington. This significant achievement follows their standout performances in various prestigious campaigns, reflecting the union's commitment to nurturing and promoting emerging rugby stars.

 

The fifty chosen players, including Auckland's own Tamiano Ahloo, Kurene Luamanuvae, King Maxwell, Nathaniel Pole, Rico Simpson, Xavi Taele, and Riley Williams, have been identified through their outstanding contributions to New Zealand Schools, New Zealand Barbarians, and New Zealand Māori Under 18 campaigns. Additionally, their noteworthy performances in Provincial Union Under 19 representative matches played a pivotal role in their selection for this exclusive camp.

 

Commencing on the 13th of November, the week-long development camp at NZCIS aims to provide these promising athletes with a platform for further growth and preparation. The emphasis will be on honing their skills and fostering their development as they set their sights on the highly anticipated Super Rugby Under 20 competition. Notably, this competition serves as a crucial pathway for selection into the esteemed New Zealand Under 20s squad.
