Holy Cross heads to Rippa World Cup


The Air NZ Rippa Rugby Championships kicks off in windy Wellington today, with  Holy Cross School representing Auckland for 2016.

The 10 students from the Paptoetoe-based school flew down on Sunday for the opening ceremony.

Their first game kicks off shortly against a school from Buller.

Last Friday Auckland Rugby Mitre 10 Cup players Lolagi Visinia and TJ Faiane headed out to their final training to wish them well. Players were given Auckland shirts and hats along with season passes to all home Auckland Mitre 10 Cup games.

Bruce Young, Principal of Holy Cross has commented on how excited the students are to take part in the tournament and represent Auckland.

"The kids have trained really hard over the last few weeks and look forward to the challenge over the next few days"  said Young.
