All Blacks and Maori All Blacks squads announced

Four Auckland players will have the opportunity of a lifetime, to suit up in the black jersey and face the British & Irish Lions in the upcoming Test series.

Jerome Kaino, Charlie Faumuina, Ofa Tu’ungafasi and Rieko Ioane have been named in the 33-man squad, the latter three all played in the Blues victory over the Lions last night.

Akira Ioane was named as injury cover and will join the All Blacks in camp. Unlucky to miss out were 2016 All Blacks Patrick Tuipulotu, Steven Luatua, Malakai Fekitoa and George Moala.

Bouth Ioane brothers, and Marcel Renata were named in the Maori All Blacks squad, who will face the Lions on June 17th.

These announcements come after both the New Zealand Under 20s and Black Ferns named line ups for their upcoming fixtures.

The New Zealand Under 20s will meet Ireland tonight in their last pool match of the World Rugby Under 20 Championships.

Ezekiel Lindenmuth, Sam Slade and Caleb Clarke all start in the side, while JP Sauni and Adrian Choat are on the bench.

The Black Ferns host Canada tomorrow night in Wellington, as curtain-raiser to the Super Rugby fixture between the Hurricanes and Chiefs.

Fiao’o Fa’amausili will captain the team and is joined in the run on 15 by fellow Aucklanders Aleisha Nelson and Eloise Blackwell. Sisters Linda and Aldora Itunu are named on the bench and Theresa Fitzpatrick is in line to make her Black Ferns debut.
