It is with sadness that we inform you John Carter (Snr) passed away on the 20^th of April. John was a life member of the Suburbs RFC. He spent his playing years at the club and after retiring, devoted his time to coaching, where he lead the senior team to their first Gallaher Shield in 1977.

Both of Johns’ sons, Mark and John (Jnr) played for Auckland and John also managed a very successful Auckland Rugby team in the late 90s.

Our condolences are with his wife Peggy and children John (Jnr), Mark, Rachael and grandchildren at this time.
