Head Coach, Richie Walker makes six changes to the team that took the field against the Taranaki Whio in Round 1.

The Auckland Storm opened their season with an impressive win against the Taranaki Whio (38-0) under wet conditions in Taranaki.

Coach Walker is excited to see how the six additions will go in Northland as they all look to make their first outing in the 2020 competition. “We have still only had a handful of chances to see how our combinations work in a game environment. It is still early days for us, and it is important that everyone gets an opportunity to show their worth on the field” Said Walker.

Two young Auckland Storm players will be set to make their debut against Northland at Semenoff Stadium tomorrow. Marist Club member, Vineta Teutau will make her first start, linking up with fellow lock, 58-game veteran and Captain, Eloise Blackwell in the second row.

Year 12 Mcauley High School Student Tamara Ati will also be hoping to make her first appearance in the Farah Palmer Cup off the bench this weekend.

Daynah Nankivell will return to the Auckland Storm team after suffering a shoulder injury midway through the 2019 FPC season. Nankivell could not have timed her return any better, as the Ponsonby midfielder may have the opportunity to mark up against her sister, Tyler Nankivell who will play in the midfield for Northland tomorrow.

Walker has made no changes to the Auckland Storm starting backline from round 1, after a commanding performance in Taranaki last weekend.

The Auckland Storm will kick off at 11:35am as the first game in a double-header at Semenoff Stadium tomorrow.
