With Rugby World Cup 2021 fast approaching, the Black Ferns have announced a training squad to attend a camp in Tauranga.
Saphire Abraham, Eloise Blackwell, Ruahei Demant, Maia Roos, Patricia Maliepo, Charmaine McMenamin, Aleisha-Pearl Nelson and Cristo Tofa have been invited to attend the training camp set for the end of January.
It will be the first time College Rifles Lock, Maia Roos has been officialy inivted to a Black Ferns camp after making her mark for the NZ Barbarians in the Black Ferns series at the end of 2020.
Although this is not an official training squad for Rugby World Cup 2021, it is still encouraging to see so many of our players included in the Black Ferns preparations in a World Cup year.
Rugby World Cup 2021 will take place from 18 September-16 October in Auckland and Whangarei and will feature 12 countries.
